Bar Americain

For celebrity chef Bobby Flay’s Bar Americain, Focus Lighting and the Rockwell Group collaborated to create a visually distinct restaurant with bold architectural elements balanced with glowing amber accents.  A welcoming ambiance envelops guests, providing an intimate dining experience within the voluminous space. Sheer curtains surrounding the bar, grazed with light from above, create a softly luminous barrier between the restaurant and the bustle of the world outside.  Frosted glass, subtly backlit, frames the expansive antique mirrored wall of the main bar with warmly suffused tones.

In contrast, the bottles, lit from below on double-height risers, sparkle while amber incandescent pendants cast pools of light on the zinc bar top.  In the dining area, giant floor lamps designed by Focus Lighting and the Rockwell Group visually demarcate the cavernous space.  Four oversized shades mounted on a glowing pillar cast a soft light onto the nearby tables, basking guests with the warmth of its inviting luster, while four smaller chandeliers hang in the center of the room adding illumination and visual variety.  The result is an elegantly refined space to suitably compliment Bobby Flay’s reputable menu.
