Located inside the W Hotel-Tuscany in New York City, Audrey Lounge serves as an elegant breakfast cafe during the day and a sophisticated bar/lounge in the evening. The concept was to create a custom lighting scheme within the space that transforms from morning to night, creating different environments within the space to fit its two alternate uses.

Colored LED’s shine through the sand-blasted chandelier pattern on the mirrored doors on the bar back wall, giving the room a subtle hint of color during the day. At night, the mirrored doors disappear, revealing the colorful glowing liquor shelves behind. The use of the LED’s created the opportunity for multiple color combinations for the shelving and bar area, each generating a different feeling within the space.

We worked closely with the owners to create nine different pre-set lighting environments for the light boxes and bar display. To achieve this, we illuminated the interior design elements of the space internally with both white and color-changing lighting to create nine distinct looks. During the day the space uses warm white light, with a hint of color shining through the sand-blasted chandelier on the mirrored bar. While at night, acrylic-shelving stations come alive and bathe the space with bold colors.
