A main challenge of KOI restaurant was adapting the design concept to the existing space. Simple, yet elegant lighting solutions enhance the environment of the space without making major structural changes. White crisscrossed lattice beams stretched across the dark ceiling are cross-lit by surface mount fixtures on the sidewalls. Custom glowing chandeliers hanging over the main dining space are each made of individual "fish scale" pieces of orange glass, internally illuminated with LEDs.
